In partnership with the OSL Marketing Department, we supported Telem Uncommon Sounds. Telem is a collective of unique musicians pushing innovative sounds. Telem Uncommon Sounds is a two-tier project, comprised of a song retreat and concert series.

The song writing retreat brings musicians together in a conducive, motivational space where they can vibe, write and produce quality music in unison with other focused artists.

The concert series is the performance of all the great songs written and discovered during the retreat. It is a live band show, where artists get to showcase their creations to the audience.

In partnership with Orange Money, we supported the Barray, a collection of artists, designers, provocative thinkers and innovators, on their “INDESTRUCTIBLE” art exhibition.

The Barray Contemporary Visual Artists’ Alliance showcases contemporary Sierra Leonean Art, displaying the creativity and the unique nature of Sierra Leone art & artists.

A growing community of Artists, the Barray is a pioneer in the world of Sierra Leone art. Exhibitions like these grant artists much needed exposure and also give artists the confidence needed to continue on creatively in a difficult and sometimes unappreciative environment.

28th May, OSL Foundation was recognized by the Sierra Ovation Awards 2022 for Excellent Corporate Social Responsibility and Outstanding Contribution to the Socioeconomic Development of Sierra Leone on Saturday 28th May 2022.

OSL Foundation Director, Jestina Betts, received the award on behalf of OSLF and was privileged to share the moment with OSL CEO Sekou Bah, who was the guest of honor that provided her the individual award for being one of the Top 100 Professionals in SL. OSL CFO Antoine Goncalves Rato was also in attendance, the Foundation's strongest pillar of support since inception and other OSL & OSLF Staff attended the ceremony.

The Orange Digital Centre launched its first Career & Demo Day, where ODC students were presented with the unique opportunity to showcase their projects and innovations to a panel of successful professionals and entrepreneurs.

The panel included the OSL Foundation Director, the Minister of Youth Affairs, the National Youth Commissioner, the Country Director of World Bank, the Head of Innovate SL & representatives from DSTI, UBA & more. Students presented projects such as a "kekeh" transportation coordination application; a mobile commerce application; a children's advocacy foundation website; a drone fire extinguisher system; a hotel booking system; a smart waste management system; a school admission system; a self-designed aircraft and a dozen others. Statements from World Bank, the Ministry of Youth and the Youth Commissioner motivated and inspired the young innovators to take advantage of the myriad of opportunities offered in this digital age. The Orange Digital Centre, as a digital ecosystem consisting of a Coding School and a manufacturing space with the Fab Lab, will continue to groom and develop entrepreneurs in Sierra Leone.
